Description

Dawn Staley, basketball legend and head coach of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team, talks to Ronny Chieng about her new memoir, “Uncommon Favor,” and how she’s built a championship program by valuing individuals over analytics and meeting her players where they are. Staley also recalls her experience of coaching through a heart condition – against doctors’ orders – to win the 2017 NCAA championship, and she offers some reassuring words to the Knicks after their Game 1 loss in the Eastern Conference finals. #DailyShow #DawnStaley #Basketball Subscribe to The Daily Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwWhs_6x42TyRM4Wstoq8HA/?sub_confirmation=1 Follow The Daily Show: Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailyshow Stream full episodes of The Daily Show on Paramount+: http://www.paramountplus.com/thedailyshow Follow Comedy Central: Twitter: https://twitter.com/ComedyCentral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ComedyCentral Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedycentral About The Daily Show: Jon Stewart and The Best F**king News Team host The Daily Show, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program analyzing the biggest stories in news, politics, and culture through a sharp, satirical lens. when a host actually read the book and do research as opposed to late night hosts who has no idea what their guests do…. excellent interview

Another great Ronny Chieng interview: He does his homework, makes the interview topical, asks insightful questions, and lets the interviewee talk. Ms. Stanley's coaching style aligns with the research that indicates people work best in environments where they are known by their supervisors and colleagues, have a chance to talk with their supervisors and work with, not compete with, others. And the results are outstanding!

Ronny absolutely nailed me with “lost 80% of the crowd.” The great part was it was STILL interesting and a fun interview! Ronny for President, since the rules have all changed!

What a terrific piece! Ronny brought out the best in Dawn Staley. The two of them seemed to genuinely enjoy their interaction. Thoughtful questions regarding all aspects of the game as well as Dawn Staley herself.
