Description

“We’ve gotta figure out how do we resist when essential, but how do we try to work together to get stuff done when we can?” Representative Tom Suozzi of New York’s third Congressional District sits down with Jordan Klepper to discuss what he thinks is the best strategy for Democrats during Trump’s second term, including a willingness to meet Republicans halfway when appropriate, and avoiding the GOP’s culture war distractions to focus on building up the middle class. #DailyShow #TomSuozzi #Democrats Subscribe to The Daily Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwWhs_6x42TyRM4Wstoq8HA/?sub_confirmation=1 Follow The Daily Show: Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailyshow Stream full episodes of The Daily Show on Paramount+: http://www.paramountplus.com/thedailyshow Follow Comedy Central: Twitter: https://twitter.com/ComedyCentral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ComedyCentral Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedycentral About The Daily Show: Jon Stewart and The Best F**king News Team host The Daily Show, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program analyzing the biggest stories in news, politics, and culture through a sharp, satirical lens. As Canadian, I never used to follow US Politics but I remember being on the treadmill at the gym, having to watch CNN - yes, this was the least boring station- during the time Boehner was Speaker. I simply could not understand the bad faith of the republicans and how the democrats were pushed around so easily. From what I can see, they have not learn a thing. It's disastrous, and not just for the US.

I like that Klepper didn’t throw softball questions. Suozzi stuck in there. Great interview!

I once read about how Neville Chamberlain tried to meet German leaders halfway in the late 1930s...worked out great!!

We can’t make concessions constantly to the ruling party, we will end in ruin.

He wants to meet the authoritarian oligarchs in the middle? Thats how we ended up here in the first place.

"Reaching across the aisle" now just means reacharounds for my corporate overlords.
