As a physician who has treated many patients in the hospital, it's extremely rare to look five years younger than when you went in, particularly when you are admitted for pneumonia, etc. Also, as others have pointed out, there isn't an IV, nor any monitoring equipment. If a patient is healthy enough not to need IV medications and are no longer being monitored, then they get discharged, no matter who they are.

Mr. McConnell was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was then transferred to a better hospital where he was pronounced alive.

The worst thing is that unlike other public releases of photos of him, this one has its meta data scrubbed. For a photo which is supposed to prove when and where it was taken. Just let that sink in.
