For those, who don't understand why France appears so agitated with regard to Russia - the Russians have quietly helped to dismantle the French grip on the Sahel region over the last 2 years, from Senegal to Burkina Faso, Mali etc. This modified post-colonial model had relied on setting up and supporting a local dictator and use him to extract resources from those countries (some of them critically important for France, such as uranium). Russians have identified this as a weakness in one of the EU most important members (but not as important as Germany from the Russian point of view) and put an end to it by offering a better `package deal` to ambitious younger military or political leaders in those countries. These African coups barely made a foot note in the Western media, but behind the scene France and by extension, the whole EU has been weakened.

France was HUMILIATED by a VERY SMALL COUNTRY, BURKINA FASSO.

The last time France sent troops to Odessa was 1918 , they lasted about 100 days
