Russia hardline position, talks with Trump exhausted
Diplomatic Exhaustion: Russia Signals End to Trump Outreach as US Hardliners Tighten Grip
Dismiss the notion of immediate Russia-US stabilization; this breakdown forces observers to track immediate escalations in Ukraine and potential global flashpoints as Moscow abandons patience with the Trump administration.
Short Summary
- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov confirmed the diplomatic "Alaska Process" has failed to achieve movement on core US-Russia issues.
- Moscow is shifting blame to European actors while implicitly criticizing President Trump's inability to enforce policy or secure agreements.
- Evidence suggests Moscow is losing faith in Trump's capacity to deliver on normalization, preparing for a security stance based purely on military calculations.
- The US appears locked in internal debate, driven by hardliners supporting escalations like long-range missile delivery to Ukraine.
This discussion unpacks authoritative statements from Russian officials indicating diplomacy has stalled. It analyzes the complex internal dynamics within both Moscow and Washington—specifically how unpredictable US decision-making is forcing Russia to adopt more rigid, hardline security measures, potentially moving beyond current territorial positions in Ukraine.

President Putin is from St. Petersburg; he loves his city very much and took his first important career steps there. He often visits St. Petersburg for his birthday, which was recently.
1. Vladimir Putin understands the American political system extremely well. This comes out very clear in his interviews with Tucker Carlson and Oliver Stone. Putin understands very well that on the matter of Ukraine, the American Oligarchy, Neocons and Deep State are in charge, not Mr. Trump. 2. Russia is fighting a defensive war against NATO. That is the reason for the slow progress. It is worth remembering that the combined GDP of the US ($29Tn) + EU ($17.5Tn) + GB ($3.6Tn) is US$40.1Tn which is twenty times the GDP of the Russian Federation ($2.1Tn). The US/NATO strategy for defeating Russia all along has been to goad the Russians into over extending themselves militarily and economically such that the Russian economy implodes followed by the Russian state. It would be foolish in the extreme for the Russians to go all out on the offensive because the US/EU/GB have far stronger economies and can always up the ante until Russia exhausts itself. Putin understands this trap for what it is and isn’t taking the bait. A defensive war is far more sustainable and safer than an offensive war. Most people seem to overlook this important point, even if it goes against Sun Tsu’s admonition about prolonged war. 3. It is primarily the banking and finance Oligarchs in the City of London, Wall Street (NY) and Paris that are hell bent against settling with Russia. Doing so would entail the collapse of their ridiculously excessively financialized rentiér economic system upon which their wealth and power depends. Re-jiggering the Western economies back to an industrial-manufacturing model would take too long, be politically painful and very risky. For that reason, the Oligarchs have elected to have a war with Russia rather than settle diplomatically.
🤷🏼♀️🍽🗽 It's not like the Trump administration didn't have enough opportunities to get out. The off ramps were offered to them on a plate over and over again...

As a relatively young Englishman what amazes me is why western countries seem to think they still have a population that is willing to fight in a serious and prolonged conflict. Who is going to fight? The recent arrivals? The woke liberals? Those with my more nationalist politics would rather overthrow the liberal regime than fight on some foreign battlefield. They have spent the past 60+ years stripping our national culture of all pride and solidarity.
Bring it Alexander and Alex. Brilliant ❤ with utmost respect 🙏 from Australia 🇦🇺..long term follower 👏 👍 👌
Putin said ones there would be any difference which president would be in Usa. Nothing would change
Horrible to see the lack of wise leadership in the Western world. Such a mess.
Putin is addressing his allies. He always has to take extreme care here.
St Petersburgh is also the cultural centre of Russia a International zone of music, arts and craft!
