If you took the time to watch closely you might have noticed the following: I will start with an opinion He is part of the same political system that assumed he might be usefull in previous election thus the previous administration took no action until the second round. With the new president, at least in those 2 weeks, he focused on transparency and some additional investigation are started not only on him. 1. He joined a protest and was on TV days after. He is forbidden to use the same speech as some criminals in our past word by word, but he i not restricted to go on shows or post. You can find resources where he has the same speech as Antonescu since you mentioned him. Usung his speech is illegal since 2009 but our justice system tends not to inforce the law. 2. Live on TV on his show the one who hosts his message every night one of his closest allies made a statement mentioning that a message towards an member of Oligarchy that deals in mining gold and mineral was asked for his financial support in exchange for the promise of Romania's Rosia Montana resources back in 2021. That was a compromising admissions made live. You might remeber a few years ago that that place was reason for protests for years in Romania. If democracy has no accountability is it a democracy in the end?! In jurnalism i assume you need both sides of perspective to avoid bias. I find it fascinanting that as of now, USA seem to have access only to one side of the narative. What do I do as a Romanian is I was willing to put democracy on hold to prevent this type of behavior to reach to power. Same country in 2000 voted for a president they hated because the second one was a person with a similar speech. I can tell this: we were no aware of his presence most of us unless we were targeted by tik tok. He had 2 000 000 votes out of 18 000 000 and he is presented as: "the elected president" by "Realitatea Plus" . There were other 6 000 000 who did not consider him as a person who would be fit for the role. Hope i provided the other perspective as well.
