I will never get over the way they chose to pick up evidence in solo cups, the txt messages, or this case.
I'm still waiting for an attorney to ask an expert if they've ever seen a Lexus bite.
I think these rulings are why people don’t see Judge Canonne as impartial. Compare her behavior to the judge in the Sarah Boone case it is a stark difference. This is not your average of the mill case, due to the mistrial she should be extraaaaa impartial.
Replay crew with an *interesting* POV. Been a critical care travel nurse with a dual ER/ICU specialty for 15 yrs (traveler for 10). I often would take care of inmate/arrested persons because it was almost a guarantee I would never be brought back cross country to testify as just the ER/ICU nurse. Seen LOTS of both dog bite wounds AND car wrecks. There is no scenario in this universe or any of the multiverses that I look at those wounds and see caused by a car. Road rash has a pretty distinctive superficial appearance at the outer wound edges. That arm didn’t have that. Even with the clothing layers, the wound edges still don’t match!
To me, all of judge Canone’s unnecessary commentary reads like personal opinion about the case. Just like her tone and negative candor toward the defense every single time she talks to them in open court reads as bias. If Dr. Russel *had* checked the molds of “Chloe’s” teeth against John’s wounds and put it in her report, the prosecution would have surely had her whole report thrown out based on the fact that forensic odontology has been found to be unreliable in legal cases; despite the fact that she wasn’t used as an expert to link Chloe specifically to the wounds which is why she didn’t want or need dental impressions from a specific dog in the first place. Also, Judge Canone’s remarks about Dr. Russell’s expertise being strictly in “treatment and not identification” are absolutely false. The entire daubert hearing was specifically about her being able to *identify* bite marks - and the judge wouldn’t have been able to deny the prosecution’s motion if that were the case. Her denying their motion and then reiterating the point of their motion is pure insanity. I will say it again, investigate her ties to 34 Fairview.
And how awful that this Chloe, who is now a geriatric dog, was supposedly put under general anaesthetic for a dental caste when dental bite is junk science. That's cruel.
The Commonwealth "Yeah, so we don't have good experts, or a good lead investigator, so if we could get rid of the defense's experts that ruin our case, that'd be great"
In a 911 call, it’s important to tell them it was an accidental shooting. This lets them know there isn’t an active shooter.
Kari Morrissey really ought to take up fencing. She's got an incredible talent for missing the point.
As Dr Russell said… she still wouldn’t have the dental impressions from the time of the incident, 3+ years later would still be irrelevant
