Just want to thank Emily D Baker for covering this trial. I enjoyed being a part of the Law Nerds through the 10 days!
Her lawyer is totally unprepared for a guilty verdict. He should have said, ASAP for sentencing.
It makes me sick that Halls got unsupervised probation and Hannah gets immediately remanded. I still think she's less to blame even tho she loaded the gun. They knew she wasn't experienced enuff and allowed it. Not only allowed, but sought after it so she'd be cheaper and forced to take on more than 1 job and not assertive enuff to kick up a fuss. I guess it's not so much she was found guilty that bothers me, it's the utter BS of the deal Dave Halls got. Baldwin better go down on both theories!
If she was found guilty and didn't pull the trigger, Alec Baldwin should be very concerned.
I think she had a terrible attny who did not pick up on what the State was laying down. He didn't even pick up on the Judge when she said she could do the sentencing earlier...meaning April! I think her attny failed her in many ways.
As someone who works in safety I can say that it is impossible to control safety in a workplace where there is no safety culture, and there clearly was not on that set. It takes a very unique personality to be able to be effective in that sort of environment, you have to comfortable with confrontation and being potentially labelled "difficult" and that seems like it would be very hard to do in an industry where hiring is based on who likes you. However, if there would have *just* been more evidence that showed her shaking the rounds before loading... If she would have just done that in plain view of other people, more regularly and more conspicuously, I don't think a jury would have convicted. The jury just didn't see enough confirmation that she was doing the bare minimum of what was required to fulfill her duty.
I feel like she was guilty but I also feel like her lawyer let her down and failed her too. He always seems unprepared and half a sleep. His heart was never in it for his client.
I pray she learns from this , pays her dues and goes on to turn her life around. I believe she was accountable, but I believe Seth and Zachary should be charged too.
I hope each person that wasnt criminally charged is taken for all their worth in civil court. Glad she was found guilty but she wasnt the only one at fault.
She brought live bullets onto a movie set, didn’t check the bullets, loaded the bullets, and one of the bullets was shot into two people, killing one. Yes, the production was terrible behind the scenes, but even if she did the bare minimum, nobody would’ve died.
