NFL Week 10 Analysis: Giants Coaching Chaos, Bears QB Clarity, and Bills/Steelers Stagnation

Discover why firing a coach mid-season is organizational malpractice that wastes high-potential quarterbacks, and see which teams are proving they can overcome adversity while others regress.

Short Summary

  • Firing Brian Daboll is reactionary madness that destroys the necessary development relationship between a coach and QB Jackson Dart.
  • Caleb Williams proves he is durable and clutch, instantly solving the Chicago Bears' decades-long search for a franchise quarterback.
  • Defensive head coaches like McDermott and Tomlin demonstrate an inability to solve pressing offensive issues mid-season, wasting prime QB years.

This analysis evaluates key Week 10 results, focusing heavily on organizational decisions and coaching styles. You will gain insight into the specific traits that define elite quarterbacks (like Williams) versus those who only succeed within limited structures (like McCarthy). Learn why certain teams are ascending while others, despite having talent, are aging poorly.

Daboll is the only guy in the NFL who can go 20-44 as a head coach and still have people jumping to his defense. As a Giants’ fan, I don’t get it. Maybe he would work better as an offensive coordinator, but he definitely doesn’t have the necessary leadership skills to be a head coach. 1. The team is never ready to play in September. We’ve gone 0-2 to start the season each time in the last three years. 2. He wasn’t doing enough to protect Dart. Calling QB draws in questionable situations finally came back to bite them. 3. Ownership was worried about the culture collapsing. They didn’t want Daboll to drag Dart and the other rookies down with him. He allowed apathy and a losing attitude to fester in the locker room by not holding anyone accountable. 4. Terrible roster management. (This also applies to the GM.) Going with an old and injured Graham Gano for another season despite a history of being hurt led to the team not having a viable kicker for multiple games.

They fired Brian Daboll not because he's lost games as a coach. They fired him for interfering with the team Doctors twice when Jackson Dart got a possible concussion.
