The Israeli government has come up with a controversial plan to build a so-called "humanitarian city" in Gaza, which critics—including Israeli newspaper Haaretz and former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert—have condemned as a modern-day concentration camp. The plan, led by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister Katz, would forcibly relocate hundreds of thousands of Palestinians into a walled zone in Rafah, where they would be confined and unable to leave.
