OMG WHAT ⁉️ Both of my kids have autism. They are now in high school, & it’s been a long & hard path to get them to the point of being able to somewhat “fit in” to society. They haven’t blossomed into thriving teens like all of my friends’ kids. They work so hard to meet the academic & social demands of the school day that it’s too much for the to participate in after school activities. They want & need downtime to regulate their systems, & they need more time to complete school assignments. It’s been heartbreaking to see how they aren’t fully accepted by peers & how much mental effort they spend to just not stand out. Medical professionals KNEW this could happen ⁉️😡🤬 I’ve never felt the urge to riot, til now….
