Trump’s New Sanctions On Russia Is A Huge BACKFIRE!

Trump’s recent threats to impose steep secondary sanctions—including 100% tariffs on countries buying Russian oil—are intended to pressure Moscow into ending the war in Ukraine. However, global markets have largely shrugged off the threats, viewing them as more bluster than serious policy, and Trump himself even admits that Russia isn’t overly concerned with US sanctions. Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger agree with economist Jeffrey Sachs that while previous sanctions have hurt Russia’s economy, they’ve also pushed Russia closer to countries like China and India, weakening the broader strategy. They argue that Trump’s approach could ultimately backfire by encouraging other countries to abandon the dollar, which would be calamitous for the US economy.
