I am now retired from tech, but I was in it for 20 years, and in general, the use of H1B employees is how they prevent Americans from demanding higher pay and getting it. You have to understand who you compete with in the workplace, and if you are working with people on par with you but they are getting $25k (or more) less than what you get paid, it's hard to go to your manager and say you are entitled to a higher salary. That's how it works.
The effects of H1b visas is compounded by the fact that the visa holders can apply for a green card after 6 years and become permanent employees. Many become managers of American based departments. What happens next is that these ex-visa holders practice "ethno nationalism" and only hire people of identical ethnic background and not American engineers. A company may advertise 20 openings, but if the manager is an ex-visa holder, no American will ever be hired for those positions. And no applicant will ever know why they were rejected.
The Great Replacement is not a theory.
It's weird, the amount of approved people for H1B's is roughly similar to the amount of Americans laid off in the same year....
It’s ridiculous how people routinely put these rich guys up on pedestals and think they’re gonna save you and change the system. 🙄
Same deal in Australia with the work sponsor visa. Cheap guys from India ready to work for less and never say no to anything.
I knew Elon was full of it when he said he was a "free speech absolutist" on Twitter, then hired Linda Yaccarino to be his head of advertising.
