Not sounding the sirens, releasing the water & blocking the roads seem like biblical red flags of nefarious intentions.
I can’t get past the fact that so-called officials wouldn’t let home owners go look at their burned property based off “safety” issues! They don’t do that in the most progressive state of California why here now? Oh that right, you can’t sell a 15 minute city in the middle of New Mexico!! They desperately need ocean front property. So-called officials needed to get a hold of every last document listing any family members who may have legal rights to the properties, how else can they obtain it from people with generational rights, values, and cultures.
Doesn't melted cars with both melted glass and melted engines found in gravel lots at the edge of the fire perimeter with only surrounding grass as possible fuel count as evidence for something very strange? This fact alone deserves scrutiny. Then what about the unburnt trees, unburnt blue umbrella's, unburnt thatched roofs, or the many burnt boats anchored offshore?
Recently listened to a meeting where hundreds in Lahaina showed up. Many spoke and the leadership was very disrespectful when listening, snickering when the the residents spoke. Getting their water back and bringing in sheep to eat the grass was brought up. They spoke of FEMA stealing their supplies. I was glad to learn the Gov and police chief are gone. HARP? Ya think? I do.
He said if the middle class doesn't invest in municipal domestic water supplies and administration then, some tyrant will do it for them. Don't their state and city/county taxes pay for that already? Ive worked on several municipal water projects, whether it was fresh water, sewer or effluent water for fire hydrants. Everytime, those jobs paid scale wage because they were state funded.
Can we ALL agree that this is no longer a war of Right vs Left, but of Right vs Wrong?
It's too difficult to believe a gov't with people that are actual residents of the islands could be this incompetent. Considering the response, leads any reasonable person to conclude it was intentional.
Incompetence at least allows people to flee. Malice forces them to die
Preventive maintenance takes away from the profits, energy companies want profits. If a disaster happens, the companies are usually not held accountable and government will pick up the tab of cleaning up afterwards and they will just raise taxes to pay for it.
