Even you guys missed a point on this. On the American (and any) frontier, women also raised animals, hunted, chopped wood, built, plowed, harvested, AND took care of the children! These men who talk about how men are no longer real men wouldn't be able to deal with a frontier woman. They certainly couldn't "win" one!
