After Luigi happened, someone wrote a comment about the private health insurance industry: "You are an extractive industry with no purpose other than to take money from people and put up barriers to care. You serve no purpose other than to create value for shareholders and executives at the direct expense of suffering people. Your entire industry should be banished, after paying reparations to everyone it has harmed --- and the families of those who died because you denied them needed care so that people like you can have bigger salaries and nice bonuses."
Killing people for money used to be illegal.
My mother was in a nursing home. Costs $7,000 per month. She received very minimal care, along with tons of neglect and physical abuse. The neglect was so bad, she almost starved to death and the facility was not willing to do anything about it. My sister had to call 911. Nursing homes should also be not for profit!
They abuse older patients who have no one advocating for them.!!!!
Keeping people *alive* should never be a business or run for profit. It's insane
We have no healthcare, we have sickcare. Now we find out, they even prevent sickcare. This is a system where greed is the game, needed healthcare is not there. . This is the real fraud on the US public.
So basically ‘There is no one looking out for the patients interest’ - wow how sad and unfortunate!
As hard as you might try, it is not humanly possible to hate the insurance industry as much as it deserves.
As a hospital RN 43 years this is extremely dangerous! Sepsis and stroke, seconds, minutes mean the difference between life and death!
This is 100% true. I worked in Health Care for many years. An elderly woman fell in her room and hit her head and face. She was taking coumadin, a blood thinner. She had several lacerations on her head and face. I sent her to the hospital. She had two deep lacerations that needed sutures, a brain bleed, a concussion, and a broken zygomatic bone. I was disciplined for sending her to the hospital, the Director of Nursing stated "we could have handled it in house". This is not a one time happening, and 99% of nursing homes are involved in this fraud.
