History Of Israel-Palestine Negotiation w/ Robert Malley; Zohran Mamdani On His Priorities | MR Live
From Peace Process Deceptions to Progressive Governance Strategy
Understand why the decades-long pursuit of a two-state solution is viewed as a destructive myth, and learn how New York City's Mayor-elect plans to use immediate material wins to prove the viability of socialist politics against entrenched opposition.
Short Summary
- Widespread inflation (85% higher grocery costs) contradicts official narratives, with the public blaming Donald Trump for economic pain.
- Expert Robert Malley breaks down how the Oslo Accords failed due to incurable fundamental disconnects regarding security and sovereignty.
- Manhattan Mayor-elect Zoron Mamdani outlines a pragmatic strategy: prioritize delivering tangible affordability policies over engaging in early partisan defense battles.
- Legal analyst Ellie Honig confirms the collapse of key Trump-related prosecutions due to fundamental prosecutorial incompetence and malice.
This broadcast delivers crucial insight into the mechanics of prolonged conflict, evidenced by former lead negotiator Robert Malley, who reveals that the focus on the two-state solution merely masked increasing fragmentation. Following this, the show pivots to domestic politics, detailing how Mayor-elect Mamdani strategizes to overcome systemic resistance by focusing exclusively on immediate material gains for New Yorkers, treating the success of foundational policies as the movement's best defense.

1:07:09 is where the interview with Mamdani starts, you're welcome internet. BTW can the mayor elect get better internet I've seen this happen to him twice lmao
you should have put that youre having Zohran on in the title! i didnt click until i saw clips of the interview on twitter
There was never any peace between Israel and Palestine to which they could return. If you look at the charted deaths-per-month over the years leading up to October 2023, IDF violence was a persistent occurrence. It wasn't until the Palestinians began defending themselves that the world took notice.
Mamdani is so iconic! I got chills
1:18:05 “So it is today…that I am announcing later…that I will formally create an exploratory committee…to see if a run could be what this country needs” RIP Michael Jamal Brooks ❤
There is a trade off here: you can focus on achieving things in a single city, but that will mean that you are also giving political legitimacy to the establishment dems, who will use this opportunity to rethink how they eat away at the left's base - fragmenting it, sowing discord. On the other hand, backing candidates who haven't proven themselves yet even within a campaign can lead to a short term electoral expansion of the left. But if you have unproven allies, that can lead to a very rapid political collapse. There are parallels across leftist history when it comes to this question. And no matter how much one argues and bickers, no one programme has found a generalizable answer. It will be interesting to see how this calculation on part of AOC and ZM turns out.
How did you guys let Adam Friedland book Zohran before majority report?
Chi Osse please as next guest. Primary Jeffries!
Having tech difficulties every time Zohran calls into the broadcast is honestly a hilarious bit and I hope he keeps it going for all 4 years
The title needs fixing. You missed the " i " off of the last Mamdani. [Edit] Thanks for fixing it.
