So El-Sayed never did a residency, but by the time he received his MD, he already had a doctorate in public health from Oxford, so it was clear that he was not going to be a traditional practitioner. This video inspired me to read his Wikipedia page, and I have to say that he is beyond impressive. I have just now gone ahead and made a donation to his campaign and I set it up to repeat monthly. I am on a fixed income, so I have to be selective in my political donations, this one was an easy decision.
