They specifically chose _"cotton-picking"_ for a reason, in order to connect the allegations of Uighur forced labor with what the USA did historically with Africans. When in fact the Uighur workers drive cotton-harvesting machines to harvest truckloads of cotton, instead of picking cotton.

I've met a Vietnam academic that sounds just like the Thailand ones Brian described. She claims China unjustly punishes Vietnam for getting close to the US. To which I asked: "why are you getting close with a colonial invader that killed millions of your people to cut off trade with China?" It's baffling.
