Basically, college sports are being turned into the franchise mode in madden except with less strict rules than the video game 😂😂😂
It’s crazy how every college player is essentially a free agent at the end of every year
Brock Purdy made 800K for the 49ers this team while Archie manning made 2.5 million at the university of Texas and he didn’t even play. There will be players just milking their college salaries and they know they’ll never go pro.
You used to be able to choose a school like Stanford or UCLA for the value of the degree. And now it’s purely about how much money you can get.
The problem isnt the players being paid its that they just implemented it with no real regulation
College Football is becoming Ultimate Team in Madden!
The coaches, including Nick Saban created this problem. When college football became huge business in the 90's and 2000's. Head coaches started jumping from college to college to pros to college to college. All the while selling kids on coming to their school, knowing if a better opportunity opened up, he was bolting, and the kids were stuck and not getting paid.
It’s hard enough recruiting the kind of talent you need to compete At Alabama’s level as it is, but the extra effort needed to essentially re-recruit the players you’ve already hustled for and signed once is a lot to ask of anyone, let alone a man who’s now seventy-something years old.
This may be why Alabama just named their first ever General Manager in Courtney Morgan. I'm wondering if it becomes his job to handle these questions so Kalen DeBeor can spend more time coaching? Maybe more teams will have GMs in the future?
Reap it college football, reap it.
