I was at Walmart yesterday and there were so many empty parking spaces. It was nice.
Republicans in the Senate offered to extend SNAP. Democrats VOTED AGAINST IT. Don't let them get away with it by blaming the Republicans for this mess. It was 100% avoidable.
it is a really good point from Ion. WIC you can only get eggs, bread, fruits and vegetables, formula, beans, milk, cheese very basic items. There is no reason to buy oreos and Coke with tax dollars

The reason why free lunches is so easy to get is because federal money is given to local schools based on free and reduced lunches. I knew someone at a school who personally witnessed an administrative staff member call out a parent who was fraudulently filing a form for free and reduced lunches when she knew that person could not possibly qualify because they weren't just poor - they were wealthy. She knew the family, knew her husband, they lived in a million $ home, she drove an Escalade and her husband had whatever the Cadillac sports car is. We're talking REALLY didn't qualify for free lunches -- and she was fired, ON THE SPOT, for calling this woman out for clearly committing fraud. The reason was simple - the district has a NO QUESTIONS ASKED policy and they want it to be very clear that it's enforced.
I needed help in 2010 after a horrible divorce. I was offered $11.00 a month. I passed. Yet at the local market I'd have a handful of cheap food, and a person in front of me with a full cart and the newest IPhone handing over food stamps. The system is rigged.... I'm sick of paying for these lazy ass people.
If people steal, they should never get food stamps again.
