If they kill human beings for profit, what makes you think they don't do that to our pets? Anything to cash grab our pockets. It's sick and satanic society.

Took our female pup in for spay. We were quoted $270 for the procedure. During the procedure, the vet nicked her spleen, forcing immediate removal so she wouldn’t bleed out, which was the correct call in this emergency situation. The vet called us to inform us about the “mistake”. When we went to pick her up we were presented with a bill for $1100. When my face went white, and I asked why the bill went from a quoted $270 to $1100 she informed me that the procedure took longer than expected and required more surgical supplies. I told her I did NOT bring her in for a spay and splenectomy so the additional “procedure” and the resulting charges should be waived. She insisted we pay the $1100. I asked to speak to the vet. She came to the front desk and before I could say a word she turned to the staff member and said, no charge. Never made eye contact, spun on her heel and walked out. No apology for sending my dog home minus an organ she should still have. Just like with human medicine - veterinary care is in the crapper. Absolutely atrocious.

The poor can no longer afford a pet. It is very sad for many who's pets are their only friend.

I’m a retired veterinarian. I practiced in a small farming community for my entire career. We cared for every animal brought to us, scheduled or not, and also made house calls for animals that couldn’t be transported. When it came time to retire, I was unable to find a private veterinarian who wanted to take this on. We reluctantly sold the practice to a small corporation mainly because of their professed anti-PE position. All was well for about 6 months. Then-you guessed it: they announced that they were taking on private equity partners. The scenario described in the video took place exactly as I had feared. They jacked up prices, eliminated basic services that were unavailable elsewhere in our area, and aggressively marketed the most profitable ones. People had trusted me not to do anything unnecessary for their pets. After a couple of years the doctor resigned and they couldn’t find a replacement. So now there are no vet services at all for a distance of 50 miles. Private Equity places zero value in serving a community.

I've been a vet since 2001. Never been more disgusted with my profession.

same thing is happening with funeral homes and crematories all over the US, you should look into that too! private equity buying up family-owned funeral homes, and even keeping the family name sometimes. putting profits over grieving people, it's absolutely sick!
