When my brother was born 18 years ago they tried telling my mom to abort him because they found a tumor on his neck on the ultrasound and said he wouldn't live past a year old. The rest of her pregnancy was nothing but scared and tearful. She refused and wanted to give him a chance of life. when he was born, the so called tumor was actually his fat roll on his neck. He was perfectly healthy and the doctor had the audacity to say, "look at that! It was just his fat roll!"... How sick. My mom was pissed.

Anyone who feels sorry for a person who has Down Syndrome has never spent any significant time with a person who has Down Syndrome. They are not suffering. By and large they are among the happiest people I’ve ever met who truly enjoy life.

The doctor told me that my daughter had Dows Syndrome and to terminate. I was 5.5 months. I did genetic testing, amniocentesis, and waited the 3 weeks. I met with Pediatrician Specialists and decided no matter what I loved my baby, I was connected to her, and keeping her. I wanted all the help necessary at the birth in case of complications… She was perfectly fine, no abnormalities. I always think.. WHAT IF? What if I did terminate would they have even told me they were wrong? How many mothers experienced this? I was almost 6 months pregnant in 1997 California. They ABSOLUTELY do late term abortions for no reason. *my daughter is now 27 has 3 BEAUTIFUL babies and a wonderful Husband.

Doctors told my mom to have an abortion with my little sister because she had Down syndrome. She chose not to. My sister is perfectly healthy and I’m so grateful my mom didn’t listen

When my daughter was pregnant, the doctors said they suspected her baby had downs syndrome. They refused testing because they wouldn't do an abortion. He's perfectly healthy. I had never been so proud of my daughter and, of course, grateful my grandson was perfectly healthy.

I went into the hospital at 23 weeks pregnant. 5 out of 5 doctors recommended we choose comfort care. They were born a week later, and turn 3 in a couple of weeks. I thank God everyday we chose life!

After several miscarriages and a still-birth, I had two high-risk pregnancies. I refused any prenatal testing even though it was highly recommended by the doctors. I was going to keep those babies no matter what their diagnosis. Praise God they were both born healthy.
