Larry Sanger Details Wikipedia's Erosion into Propaganda and Proposes Nine Reforms

Understand how Wikipedia transformed from an academic ideal into a global information monopoly and learn the nine critical steps Larry Sanger proposes to restore its original neutrality.

Short Summary

  • Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View (NPOV) policy was subverted by defining "significant views" based on establishment (center-left) sources.
  • Over 85% of the most powerful editorial accounts remain anonymous, preventing accountability for biased decisions and defamation.
  • Source blacklists, established post-2016, systematically exclude conservative and dissenting media outlets while promoting established liberal sources.
  • Sanger outlines nine structural reforms, including ending consensus decision-making and allowing competing articles, to combat institutional corruption.
  • This discussion highlights Wikipedia's profound power in controlling the collective memory and public reality, making reform an urgent necessity.

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger joins Tucker Carlson to retrace the platform's ideological shift from its 2001 founding principles to its current structure, which Sanger alleges serves powerful political and intelligence interests. The discussion moves from historical context to an urgent roadmap for reformation focused on structural governance changes.

Description

Larry Sanger built Wikipedia as an unbiased repository of the world’s knowledge, and then stood helplessly by as activists and intel agencies turned it into the most comprehensive propaganda op in human history. There’s nothing more corrupt. Larry Sanger is co-founder of Wikipedia. With a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Ohio State, Sanger's career moved from academia to educational and reference projects online. He is now president of the Knowledge Standards Foundation. He has been blogging at LarrySanger.org for twenty years, where he posts influential pieces about the internet, philosophy, education, and most recently theology (his conversion story went viral in February 2025). He also plays Irish fiddle and homeschools his boys. Wikipedia is like an old Soviet textbook; useful for geography, astronomy, and other natural sciences, but utterly worthless for history, politics, or anything else.

I speak 3 languages, including English, and I'm able to say that English articles and non English articles of the same exact topic are different, and that alone is a clear element of bias. It's the OPPOSITE of neutrality.

I was a Marine in 2004, Operation Secure Tomorrow where we overthrew the government of Haiti, and for the last 20 years I have seen that article go from evidence and truth telling to now being less than a paragraph and totally untrue in what we did. You cannot trust Wiki for anything.

Wikipedia routinely locks slandered conservatives and libertarians out of their respective biography pages, _leaving all those slandered with absolutely no means to correct such lies being propagated across the world, _*_unopposed??!_*

Wikipedia is Winston [1984], sitting at his booth editing history in total newspeak fashion for the Ministry of Truth.
