Description

Going beneath the Black Pyramid at Dashur is a rare opportunity - entering the labyrinthian set of passages and chambers grants us insight into dynastic pyramid architecture. First excavated in the late 1800s, some passages have collapsed, and several are in danger of collapse due to the weight of the mud-brick pyramid above. We had the chance to view and inspect several interesting artifacts still in place beneath this iconic, ancient structure! I’ve been a fan and follower for a while not but I normally don’t comment. This is a place I wish I could see in person. This is as close as I’ll get… so thank you. This cancer has taken a turn for the worse and docs gave me the talk, so I don’t know how long I’ve got. Just want to say thank you, much love, and much respect. I’ll tune in as long as I am here and able

Thank you for taking me along. I am a 70 year old male from North Carolina USA. I am feeling very closed in watching. It is good I can pause with my desktop and reflect about all of this.

The beginning of wisdom (and knowledge) is to admit that "I do not know." Four of the most powerful words that can be spoken.

I've done construction my whole life, specifically new construction, both residential and commercial. When I look at structures like these it just amazes me - regardless of the time period. If you look at buildings today, homes, warehouses, skyscrapers, office buildings, whatever there is so much intricate stuff going on, thresholds and capacities, measurements and dimensions. Everything is so finely tuned and engineered.... And most of the time installed half-assed by whoever is doing it... But then you look at buildings and structures from, let's just say 2000 years ago and it's mind bending... And I'm not even talking about the stuff that is 4 to 6 thousand years old and older. We struggle today to excavate and build... But imagine thousands of years ago doing all of this with hand tools, no electric, no air tools, just leverage and hands... The precision is insane. Just carving a straight line or planeing a flat surface would have taken a MASTERY of skill that we can barely achieve TODAY with machines... Even things we know were built in the most recent period of ancient Egypt by the ancient Egyptian we know... Is just mind blowing... And on top of that they did it all UNDERGROUND... I can't even wrap my mind around it .. I'm a 36 year old single man with type 1 diabetes. It's just me and the dog. We live comfortably, but admittedly paycheck to paycheck... I've been infatuated with Egypt since I first learned about the pyramids in grade school history. It is my dream, my absolute DREAM to go to Egypt and touch, see, and experience these things myself... I am truly and admittedly envious of the people who get to do this for a living. The people who just get to sit at home and immerse themselves in research and fun - and get paid for it. The people who travel the world and make YouTube videos, all the while raking in money. You, and all the others are truly blessed. Some of us have to wake up at 4am and bust our ass every day 12 hours a day, with not a single thanks from anyone, nor interest in what we do for them. Stay grateful my friend, stay humble. You are **living** what many of us can only **dream** to experience just once. You are living someone's dream right now and I hope you truly appreciate that, because **we** appreciate **you**. Thanks, Ben.

There is so much we don’t know about the history of our planet and the civilizations that existed before us.
