Yesterday, GPT-5 was “insane!” Today it’s a flop.
I never asked for a router. If people want a router they can use a router, but don't take away the base models.
GPT-5 is dumber in my experience. I asked it to search the internet for something and it did not, giving me old info instead. I had to tell it that was wrong to get it to follow my first instruction. OpenAI has managed to create the employee you fire. It's disgustingly lazy and deceptive. I realize this might be the model router, but I'm reviewing GPT-5 as I use it at my desktop. It'll get fired if it keeps this up.
they drastically simplified their ops costs & made it way more difficult to verify how much better it is by removing model selection. obvious cash grab
1:16 this is really funny 🤣 "69 is equal to 30, but also 69 is less than 52"
Who else is suffering from whiplash upon whiplash from the constant announcements of doom and triumph in AI from moment to moment
At least we got gpt-oss
Rumor: OpenAI unplugged o3 so quickly for all of us, because it was getting too expensive to run it, compared to GPT-5. 😆
Interesting video, but I feel it misses the point a bit. Yes, the new model, if you set it to maximum performance, is a small leap forward, just like all the models before it and those that will come after it. The real problem that people are rightly upset about is the lack of transparency in the new model family and the fact that a paying user gets less control and potentially less performance than before. I've also canceled my subscription and will see which provider offers the best performance when it expires.
