It's worth noting that some salamanders incorporate chloroplasts in their bodies (the eggs get colonized by algae and this results in the adults having it in them), and that melanin in animals acts in a similar way to chlorophyll, but not as strongly.
Eating plants for energy is just easier than merging via a teleportation machine like in "The Fly" 😂
When I first clicked on this video I assumed that it would focus on the zombie frogs which were found to have strange fungal infections to the point that the fruiting mushrooms were emerging from the fungus embedded in their systems, but the slug case study was so interesting that I'm not even disappointed that those aren't the same zombie frogs as the ones documented here
