Alex Filippenko is one of the great astronomers of our time.
I appreciate how Brian Greene conducts interviews, allowing guests to fully express their thoughts with minimal interruption and backchanneling. This focus on the guest's perspective enhances my ability to absorb the content.
Hi Brian Greene, I have found your recent one to one conversations with eminent scientists absolutely gripping. It seems that allowing a single scientist to talk at length on their specialist subject, with yourself as facilitator, takes me deeper into their world than I can go when following group discussions and my understanding grows accordingly. Thank you and please keep up your outstanding educational work.
Alex Filippenko is the reason I got into astronomy when I was younger. I love this guy so much. He's so good at describing complex concepts to dummies like me. I would love to take his class at Berkeley
A great interviewer needs a generous spirit. He/she doesn't need to be reminded that the interviewer is a facilitator, and therefore not the "star" of the show. The best interviewers ask intelligent questions, and then shut up to let the experts enlighten us. Brian Greene's generous spirit and deep knowledge have made us the happy beneficiaries of his prolific interviews and podcasts for years, now. I am thankful for Brian Greene's contribution to my layman's understanding of concepts that are inaccessible to me without his help.
I got interested in cosmology watching History channels documentaries some 20 years ago and Filippenko was often a guest expert. Now here he is on YouTube as guest talking with my favorite scientist! I love YouTube.
Two outstanding teachers!! Their ability to explain complex subjects in an understandable manner is incredible.
Yeah this is definitely my favorite YouTube channel and one of my favorite guests. Thanks guys 👍
