ambulance dispatcher here, they typically don’t let themselves get under half a tank of gas for emergency purposes. also there’s emergent and non emergent ambulances as well!!! and when it comes to the meds in the back, they’re actually locked up not just out in the open for grabs 😭😂 firefighters do drive the ambulance if need be sometimes, absolutely not a nurse or doctor tho LOL // pair of medics ??? 52:34 some fire stations have ambulances with trained personnel called the EMTs that works at the fire station, but some districts have separate EMS station separate from the fire department it really depends on how much money the county makes

paramedic here, yes, we have to refuel the ambulances, our service requires our trucks to not get below half a tank, sometimes, on long transports or calls over 10 miles or such, or how many calls there are that shift, we require fuel. lol, thats how it is. Ambulances are pre-hospital entities also, we have the capability to perform mostly everything an ER does in the back of a 10x10 box. Our narcs, are highly regulated and secured within a lock box. You can IN FACT, turn off an ambulance. its a thing.
