Passed Out Mom Has 8-Year-Old Son Drive Her Home

Police in St. Louis found a 28-year-old mother, Latonya Mayes-Gale, passed out in the backseat of her car at 4 a.m. while her 8-year-old son was driving and her toddler sat unrestrained in the back. Officers suspected she was intoxicated, and the boy reportedly told them his mother instructed him to drive them home. Mayes-Gale was charged with two counts of child endangerment, later pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to two years of probation with restricted contact with her children.
