Who got a 20% raise??? Who is lying in these government reports?
Middle Class neighborhood streets used to have all the cars in the driveway. Now those streets are lined with cars. Nobody can afford to be independent and live as a single family. Wages are 40+ years behind inflation.
Im a single Master Plumber in New England with a room mate, no kids, and even Im having trouble paying my daily bills. Things are rough out here.
I live in WA state. Four years ago, a pound of 96% lean ground beef at Walmart was $4.96. Today, that same pound of hamburger is $8.96. The increase over four years is 80%.
Groceries are way past 20%
My big grocery purchase per month went from average $420 to $600. That’s in the past 4 years. It’s way higher than 20%. I can buy one bag of groceries and it can be $80-$100.
One big item you missed is property taxes, where I live house prices have gotten insane, and your property tax is tied it's price.
My groceries doubled. I didnt buy a house or a car. Insurance Up Taxes Up Electricity Up Water Up Living went Up Up Up
We’re a family of 4 and our grocery bill each month has surpassed our rent. We eat 95% of our meals at home, we eat regular food (meat, veggies and fruits - nothing organic, and we really only buy meat when it’s less than $5/lb) so they can throw out whatever numbers they want but the pain is real.
