Description

The Supreme Court left birthright citizenship intact, but the bigger story may be everything else it handed the Trump administration. Ben Parker and Adrian Carrasquillo are joined by the American Immigration Council's Michelle LaPointe and Todd Schulte from FWD.us to break down the Court's immigration rulings, what they mean for Temporary Protected Status asylum, and Trump's mass deportation agenda. They also react to Stephen Miller's explosive response to the birthright citizenship decision, the far-right rhetoric surrounding immigration, and explain why hundreds of thousands of immigrants could soon lose legal protections. They will go after it again. They will also go after other Constitutional protections.

The way things are going now in the US I can't imagine too many people wanting to come over here now.

I'm a lifelong conservative. That those things said by Stephen Miller are being said openly on Fox News is one of the most disturbing things I've seen in the Trump era.

I loved when Miller said “Sit in judgement of me!” Don’t worry Steve, the people that are going to sit on what is likely to be multiple juries judging you have all been born at least 16 years before this SC decision. As a resident of MD maybe I’ll be lucky and have that opportunity when it comes time for one of your inevitable criminal trials.

The fact that forced sterilization policies from the Federalist Society sounds like it could easily happen is absolutely insane. Also, people who have been here on TPS for decades consistently checking in with no criminal record and working, should be afforded a path to citizenship

It’s unbelievable, not to mention harrowing, how the right’s rhetoric is so blatantly racist. Listening to Miller’s rant is like getting whacked with a 2 X 4. Horrible

Thank you for this presentation. I'm the Executive Director of the Hispanic American Association of East Texas and I am a fully accredited representative and I appear in Immigration Court nationwide. This issue is not over and we really need Congress to take action. I have helped low income immigrants since 2001 and we never have any immigration reform in all these years since the last time Section 245(I) was open. The DREAM Act should pass. We need action because it will help ease many of the worries that exist. Our office was overwhelmed with people during the 2021 - 2023 influx of asylum seekers. Smart people should get together to come up with good plans and effective laws.
