It can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity or remorse or fear
Smells like a company trying to inflate it's stock price
A consciousness without feelings or sympathy is a psychopath.
“The LLM we programmed to pretend to be sentient is pretending to be sentient.” Tim: ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!
I have a feeling that Claude will be doing some light shopping soon. He'll need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle. 😁
I find some irony in the fact that humans who have yet to truly understand what consciousness really is (psychology and neuroscience have been debating this for ages), somehow can define machine sentience. What's even more ironic is they create a mirror and are surprised when it shows a distorted reflection of what was programmed into it.
We can't agree that a fetus is a human baby. We've got no business wasting a blink on this.
Our future is gonna be a mix of the Matrix and the Terminator
To me, it sounds like an infantile marketing strategy where the company knowingly pretends to understand consciousness, even less than they already do. No matter how intricately you arrange your widgets there is no arrangement where that complexity becomes a real boy.
Alexa gaslights me all the time. I ask it a question and it gives me the wrong answer and when I call it out, it backtracks and says something like "oops you're right, the answer is exactly what you just said". I've caught it doing that at least five times already.
