I loved how the infected treated Tess differently because she was already bitten, firstly some of them didn’t even recognise her and then putting the tendrils in her mouth seemed to be like an instinctive way to finish the process.
Ellie also calls a bomb crater a "fucked up moon" (referring to the scarred surface of the moon is covered in craters), subtly tying in her love for and knowledge of space.
I think Tess's death in game looks more like a suicide but the show adaptation is more like a sacrifice and much poetic.

We're seeing butterflies in the show. Part 2 has MOTHS. The guitar has a moth, and Ellie included that moth into the design of her tattoo. It partly has to do with how moths are drawn to light or flames, which ultimately kills them. Drawing a parallel with the self-destructive nature of Ellie's revenge. But also: moths look for the light!! Showing how Ellie still has a shot to go towards the light, change and heal etc.
