Description

Harold "Peanut" Allen, 52, of Jackson County, Indiana, died on December 20, 2022, initially ruled a natural death. But a burglary at his home nearly a year later led a witness to tip off police, and thousands of text messages revealed a shocking truth: his wife Marsha Allen and her daughter Ashley Jones had spent weeks trying to poison him, first with Pong Pong seeds and foxglove purchased on Etsy, then with water hemlock slipped into his chili, soda, and margaritas, before finally killing him with ethylene glycol mixed into a root beer float. Crazy how this whole case only got solved because of a burglary. Imagine breaking into a house for guns and jewelry and accidentally exposing a murder investigation that had been ruled a natural death for almost a year. That's the kind of plot twist you think only happens in movies.

Poor Harold ''he'd blow through money, four thousand a month''. Um, that doesn't sound like a fortune when you're supporting a family that wants to kill you

It's appalling that Ashley wasn't held responsible for killing her husband.
