They only pretended to care about the budget deficit so they could use it an excuse to cut social safety net programs and give more tax cuts to their wealthy donors.

I’m sorry but it’s delusional thinking to believe that Republicans ever cared about debt. Reagan and George W Bush and now Trump. Talk to me about how fiscally responsible they were so I can have a good laugh.

The only time the Republican Party ever talks about deficits and debts is as soon as a Democrat wins the Presidency.

In the 2023 STOU speech, Biden wasn't calling the repubs out on social security reform, he was calling them out on social security destruction. I thought the guest was a straight shooter?

Firing the IGs wasn't incompetence. They kept two corrupt ones in particular. The IG purge was corruption.

How about saving money by not going to war for $1B/day?

Please remember that Bill Clinton raised taxes, balanced the budget and was impeached. He lost the House for addressing the budget issues. Bush Jr. went to war and cut taxes. So much for the balanced budget. The last time prior to that when the budget was balanced, Lyndon Johnson was president. BTW he was a democrat with a democratic majority. So please, don't imply the GOP was ever responsible. Did Biden deficit spend. Absolutely. He remembered what happened to Obama. Obama was faced with a GOP depression and did not spend enough. The Bush Jr. depression lingered. See also FDR 1937. But also remember, by the end of Biden's administration the speed of the increase in the deficit was going down. Trump's catastrophic administration had to be addressed. Because Pelosi and Biden spent money, we did not have a second 21st century depression. Did we get inflation. Absolutely. There is always inflation after a war. The difference is the war was against Covid. And by the end of 2024 our economy was humming along. The rate in increase in deficit was trimmed. The inflation from Trump's Covid failure was all but over. And America elected Trump. We are now spending military assets like a drunken sailors. And the GOP in control does nothing except watch the corpses from grade schools come home. The TACO king has caused immense damage to America and now the world. And the GOP does nothing. Your both siderism is a disgrace.

The inability to even talk about defense spending cuts with any seriousness is always kinda hilarious.

Tax cuts for the billionaires, spending cuts on services for the poor
