“Putting Christmas on a credit card.” Resonated with me more than I expected. I hope this man makes it into office one day.

I think Osborne ran the right campaign, but in the wrong year. Had this been a midterm year than I think he would have won. I think he should of made it more clear that he wouldn’t caucus with any party and is a genuine independent who represents working class people. He should have NOTHING to do with the Democratic party. But maybe people are to partisan brained to ever understand that some people genuinely are Independent.

I like this guy. Honest. I like how he is an independent. One of the things that hit home. When a piece of equipment goes down, he fixed it and was proud. American proud. Then when the company asked for input, he volunteered to take time to help. He put his actions where his mouth was. Solution to the problem not just a whinier. I'm glad he sounds like he is going to run again.

Could you imagine a government made of a cross section of people like Dan Osborn, it would be filled with hope instead of despair. Maybe some day soon.

As a Nebraskan who voted for Dan I cannot fathom why anyone would vote for Deb Fisher. I told everyone I could, Dem/Rep alike, that Dan would be huge for Nebraska and tried to make the case for him. But honestly, just on the cool factor Dan clear her easily. She tracks as a swamp creature and he tracks as Mr. Nebraska. I mean hell, his last name is Osborn which is like a royal name here in Nebraska (I know Tom Osborne is spelled with an E, but I assumed many voters would spur of the moment vote for him without realizing this). Ultimately, I think it was relentless ads from the right trying to call him a democrat in disguise and the simple fact Deb has an R next to her name that caused the loss. As an anecdote: I also had a coworker tell me his brother saw a Dan Osborn ad and thought it was cringe because he used a welding helmet for a grinder when it’s not necessary. I mean sure, but I looked it up anyway and the type of grinder he was using was at least recommended to use some kind of face protection. I told my coworker that’s something a blue collar guy would notice but nobody else, and Dan was probably playing it up for the visuals. I wonder if this coworker voted for Dan or if he was convinced not to because his brother called him out as a fraud. Kind of like the Tim Walz thing, all his cred was taken away from a 7 second video of him fumbling with a shotgun. I wish people didn’t get hung up on such trivial things and instead focused on policy, but that isn’t the world we live in and never has been. I really think Dan could win if given more support, and he now has some more name recognition at the start.

I'm very right wing and dont see why Dan wouldn't have been a good choice. He seems like a good, honest man. That alone would make him a rarity in politics.

Good summary of modern politics globally: lies won.
