As soon as that first story said "Bolivia for two weeks" I knew it was going to be ayahuasca, and as soon as that was confirmed I knew things were going to get wild. But also so annoying that the OP said "if she gets any worse I'm involving her family" and then she didn't do that immediately when she got worse, instead waited until she was literally half dead, and "I wanted to ask what she had seen but something always stopped me" like girl wtf why didn't you call her family as soon as she started eating live insects?!
That second story sounded like radiation sickness combined with a healthy dose of Ethel draining the youth from op
The first sign someone needs help would be eating raw meat with their hands in the middle of the night. Noooot weeks or months later when they've done a dozen worse things.

I’ve been pretty much bedridden for 6 months. For years I’ve listened to let’s read and this keeps me sane!
Story 2 is giving definite The Skeleton Key vibes
In the first story, it is absolutely not OP's fault for what happened to her roomate, but i do find the fact that OP ignored VERY obvious signs of a serious mental health issue and drug induced psychosis, for so long, very frustrating. I am very sorry they had to go through such a traumatic event, again it's not her fault, but this is why you don't ignore warning signs like this.
