Matt’s the type of person who will complain about roller coasters existing, yet still go to theme park, get on the roller coaster, have fun, but then still tell everyone he hated it.
Ben needs to stop falling for Matt’s rage bait 😂
It's over Matt! Ben has the high Ground! =]
The criticism of fighting on Mustafar is so absurd. This is the point in the saga where the characters have reached thematic hell. It’s how fantasy settings work, reflecting the state of the characters’ minds. Even go back to Utapau it’s the same idea with their sinkholes, foreshadowing that we’re heading to the underworld. The desolate, dead-end world of Tatooine where Luke Skywalker yearns for more. These are distinct environments that inform the story, which George Lucas looks for throughout his settings.
"Why would they fight on a lava planet?" Because it makes a cool setting and also gives us a reason why Darth Vader needs his suit.
No one who hates on Star Wars ever mentions the music — which is some of the greatest movie music ever made btw.
The one time Matt Walsh is wrong more than right: Reviewing movies
The reason why Obi-Wan Kenobi definitively would win because of the high ground, requires more depth into Star Wars. Anakin admired and studied actively Obi-Wan's duel with Darth Maul on Naboo, he believed that he could use essentially the same move as Obi-Wan did to quickly dispatch him. Obi-Wan likely knew that Anakin's extensive study of the duel combined with his arrogance would surely result in a predictable outcome.
I'm starting to be convinced that Matt hasn't actually watched any of these movies he's criticizing. He's just having his staff write a script pulled from RedIt threads and memes.
Matt Walsh has been cosplaying as George Lucas (circa 1976) for years now, so it's surprising he's not a huge fan of everything Star Wars.
