Trump BLOCKED as Judge SHUTS DOWN His Voter PURGE Scheme!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover Judge Sparkle Sooknanan's 75-page ruling vacating the Trump administration's overhaul of the SAVE immigration database and barring its use for voter screening. The administration secretly combined Social Security numbers obtained through DOGE with citizenship and immigration records to build what plaintiffs called a "Data Lake" inside USCIS. Republican-led states used it to screen over 67 million registered voters and began canceling registrations of people flagged as noncitizens, including U.S. citizens who were wrongly identified. Judge Sooknanan wrote that the government "knowingly trampled on the privacy rights of American citizens in a manner that threatens the sacred right to vote." She found violations of three federal statutes: the Privacy Act of 1974, the Social Security Act, and the APA. DHS never filed the required public notices before incorporating SSA data and only posted a Privacy Act notice days after the lawsuit was filed. Brian and Shant stress the constitutional framework: Article I gives states authority over elections, with Congress as the only federal check. The president's DOJ has no role. With midterms months away, this wasn't a policy experiment. It was an operational voter purge targeting left-leaning populations, and the courts shut it down.
