I still don’t get preseason top 25’s

The only real purpose of preseason top-25’s is to annoy people and get them debating while football gears up to return.

"Did you have Indiana and Miami No.1 and No.2?" Sadly not, but I did have them both inside the Top 10. If my memory serves me correctly, I had Indiana 7th and Miami 8th.

It's really simple: if your favorite team isn't ranked in the top 5 of the preseason for fun rankings, it's bias and they don't know ball

These rankings, which I am not opposed to for the most part, are the initial setting of the politicking prior to the games actually being played. It matters because some teams benefit from getting more grace while others are punished without any data.

7:11 that’s the entire problem. Once voters set a ranking for a team, they rerank them with their starting position in mind. They don’t just clear the slate and rerank everyone over again.

The bias part is very true and when those teams don’t pan out their still ranked higher than they’re supposed to be at the end of the season
