"It's like describing a movie to someone who had never seen one before. And then asking them to write a review"
Backrooms fans when a PNG of Kanye didn't chase the characters around for an hour
"Why is the volume not working?" -My ear's last words
the reason why people hate it is because there's a lot of visual story telling/subliminal messaging that they don't pick up on because they're too busy scrolling on their phones
Going to see a psychological horror movie and then complaining that its slow and that there issnt enough jumpscares, is what i find most strange about the mindset of the "haters"
"Too slow, get to the point" will be the death of actual art
“Too much rooms” 6/10 IGN
went to see backrooms on saturday and i absolutely thoroughly enjoyed it. i will admit i noticed how slowly paced it was and, as a person who just EXISTS in the modern day, my brain was like "omg why is there nothing happening?!?!?! do something already!!!!!!!" but yk what i did instead of just whipping my phone out? i just sat in the slowness. i noticed every detail of every shot, i soaked in the discomfort and tension, and it made the whole thing so much more gratifying once i started piecing things together. a lot of these people are exactly like clark (as ironic as it is), unwilling to acknowledge their faults and blaming the world for their disappointment with everything.
I saw a staggering number of people open their phone and start texting, snap chatting, opening instagram during the film. Theater etiquette is dead, this is not your bedroom
"Went in with an open mind" in twitter terms that's "no matter what I was gonna hate this movie"
