But during the diagnosis process and the treatment I connected with other people who were in the same situation. And we tried to support us mutually in that misery. The others ... they all died. Within a year they all died. I was the only survivor of our group. And then I couldn't avoid it to ask myself "why me?"

These two episodes mark the moment(s) Walt's ambition to simply provide for his family meets his inflating ego/narcissism, and from this moment forward, EVERYTHING dark that happens in this Series is a result of it. Hang-on tight folks! It only gets rockier from here on out!
