The Hidden Scam Behind NYC’s New Property Tax

"Sick glee" was an understatement. He is an evil clown.

This seems very similar to what Vancouver, Canada did where you had a whole bunch of people from China and other pacific countries who bought properties to hide their money in valuable real estate, and so they instituted a tax on those empty second homes because they were eating a huge chunk of real estate that was just staying empty. A lot of them opted to sell the properties which then freed up supply, but a bunch also just opted to pay the tax because they were so absurdly wealthy it was nothing to them.

Any extra tax that targets a specific group is discrimination and illegal.

Look at Mamdani’s record in the NYS Assembly , he never ever showed up. Ask another assembly person if they ever had seen him. Maybe once, and he has the audacity to claim his work at the assembly a liar and blowhard whose only work is photo ops. Like shoveling snow when the snow clean up was a disaster or filling pot holes where the streets are worse than ever.

Mamdani is implying that the ultra rich living in New York City and New York State, owe the people of New York City and New York State something, because the ultra rich supposedly don't pay their fare share. But this is really about the budget. New York City has a budget deficit, and now the ultra rich are going to pay for it.
