Description

Congressman Jake Auchincloss joins John Avlon to lay out a new “patriotic center” for Democrats—from taxing social media companies to fund education, to rebuilding America, fixing housing, confronting China, regulating AI deepfakes, and reclaiming patriotism from Trumpism. They also debate school closures, social media addiction, AI’s impact on democracy, and why Democrats need a more aggressive economic message heading into 2028. What a delight to hear guests start speaking a sentence without saying "look" or "I mean."

If these major tech companies can afford billions for data centers, why aren’t they on the hook to build a nuclear center to cover the energy demands?

20:06 If your first order of business is not SCOTUS reform, then there’s no guarantee that any new legislation you propose will survive. SCOTUS reform must come first.

What they try to do is conflate "idea" (a positive, friendly sounding word) with "ideology" (a scary sounding word with authoritarian overtones). Don't let them do it. Don't let them make you believe that "inclusivity" (for example) is some kind of nefarious socialist plot. It also denotes inclusivity of ideas.
