Mine is a 2023, just hit 20k miles. I run a lawn care business with mine (with electric mowers) and I'm pulling an enclosed trailer 6 days a week. The 240v outlet powers a panel in the trailer that all my charging equipment is hooked up to, so it's all contained. I just plug the truck in at night and everything is ready to go in the morning. Works great for me because of the nature of my work - I don't drive a lot of miles overall, but I am running it for 100% of my work day. Costs me $100-150 in electricity a month to power the truck and all the mowers and gear to mow around 70 properties a week. I'd be spending that every other day in gas with a traditional setup.
My '23 Lariat Lightning (Big Red) has been awesome so far. Almost 600HP, yet 4X cheaper to operate than my old slow V8s. When my house lost power last week (midnight to 5 am), I ran an extension cord from my truck into the house. Big Red powered my home-essentials (fridge, lights, phone chargers, and fan) all night, only using 2% of its battery. Funny thing ... those who know the most about this truck (actual owners) ... LOVE IT! And those who know less than nothing ... HATE IT. 🤣
Ive owned over 20 vehicles. Hands down the best truck ive ever owned. Faster than my 2006 vette and can still pull my 10k pound travel trailer
As an engineer who works on traction inverters, it is refreshing to see a practical truck like this. Sure the situation under the hood seems clumsy with all the hoses, but a lot of compromises have to be made during the process, and their benefits may not be visible to the eye. These designs have a come an extremely long way when looking at legacy electric vehicles and will continue to be perfected.
I bought one for work. And it’s the best thing ever. No regrets.
They still use the mast antenna because it picks up signals farther, this is important for people in the country and mountains.
Thanks for doing another video on this. I purchased a 2024 flash last November after having seen your first review of a lightning. It’s been an excellent truck!
I would love for you to do one on the Silverado EV WT. If you need one to review I would love to offer mine. Thank you for everything you do!
I bought a 2024 F150 Lightning Lariat last Nov. My first EV. 0%APR, free EVSE installed, and free portable charger. I LOVE this truck! It's our daily driver. Charge at home for pennies. Wife's ICE vehicle is rarely used. And yes, the only concern I have is all of the coolant connectors, but I will say that elastomers have improved greatly since my first car in the 70s. I'm EV from here on in.
I run a Meth Lab in my basement, and my Ford Lightning saved my a$$ when the power went out for 3 days ! It kept my Meth Lab running no problem. Thank you Ford. I would have lost thousands in my Meth sales if it wasn't for this fantastic truck
