People need to remember that it doesn’t matter how high the GDP of a country is if all that money is concentrated in the pockets of the 1%
To quote George Carlin; "It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it."
And they call us selfish for not wanting kids when everything is so damn expensive!
There’s a famous saying about GDP that goes like this. Two economists walk into the woods. As they do, one of them spots a pile of shit in their way and tells the other “I’ll pay you $200 to eat that.” The other economist agrees, and eats the pile of shit and takes the $200. As they continue walking, the economist who at the shit stumbles on another pile of shit and tells his friend “I’ll pay you $200 to eat that pile of shit.” The man agrees, eats the shit and gets paid $200. On that day, the GDP rose by $400. No one’s life improved just because someone ate shit and $200 was exchanged twice.
The problem isn't a lack of jobs, it's the jobs suck and the pay doesn't keep up with inflation.
The wealth gap is a much better indicator than the GDP of a nation, having a $50 trillion GDP means nothing if $49 trillion is owned by 49 people.

I wish this video had the outreach of 60 Minutes. This is the information and reality that Americans need to hear. Amazing Friday show; thank you Phil, your team, and the guest speakers for such an insightful video 💛🇺🇸
I remember listening to GreenDay and hearing “I’m not growing up, I’m just burning out…” and thinking it is was a cool line. Now, that lyric hits so different.
I don't see enough people talking about workload. I've been at my warehouse job for 5 years and my workload has only increased while my pay goes up about $1.74 in that time. Working more feels like punishment while making the slightly more than years ago
