I'll be honest, I think this conversation is stupid, just use what you like. Don't have to minmax everything in your life
Using Neovim increases productivity. Neovim users invest the increased productivity back into their Neovim config. So, it all balances out in the end.
My brain is the bottleneck when I develop not the speed of my text editor
devs are not switching to it my guess: devs wanna develop
Hot take: nvim community does not need nvim to become more accessible, diluting userbase with non-powerusers would complicate nvim development and fracture community.
I learned commands like Ctrl c, Ctrl v, Ctrl z, outside programming even before programing or using IDEs or sublime or vs code, those commands are pretty common on Ms office
You could change this to be Linux vs Windows vs MacOS. Use whatever you are comfy with. No fucks given if you write 2x faster than the other person beside you. Are you getting the job done ? That’s it. It feels like that was written by someone that wanted to use neovim, and expected a VS Code experience, and did not spent time learning the tool.
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, etc. are not equally confusing because they're used everywhere else. Don't get me wrong—I plan to learn Vim, but the fact remains.
15:41 the difference is, ctrl + v, ctrl + c etc are almost universal, if you've used shortcuts in any program in any capacity, you already know them, and i'd say 9/10 times you already know said shortcuts before you start programming, but neovim is probably the only editor besides its forks that uses yy for copy etc.
Your point on vscode and how all these things may be confusing. The difference here is you don't need to understand all these things with an IDE like vscode.
