That phone call is from years ago not yesterday.

I have a coworker who went to Guadalajara for 2 weeks, I wasn't sure if he was going to be back to work this week. Luckily he came back Saturday.

My Dad used to go to Mexico right after thanksgiving and stay until tax time. He quit going many decades ago because the gangs were stopping motor homes on the highways and robbing tourists at gunpoint. My Dad was a retired Deputy Chief of the CHP. I quit going down as soon as he stopped going.
