Reminder that every time the government has taken away rights from citizens, they first tested the waters on non citizens and the marginalized first.

So, wait, hundred-thousands of Americans losing their jobs in the federal government is fine, but when it's a publicly traded, privately owned tech-bro stock, *then* it would be a problem for people to lose their jobs? Yeah, real fucking sensible argument.

My mom works as a travel nurse and often travels back and forth from the US and Canada; she has cancelled her recent contract after hearing one of her friends from Windsor who travels to Detroit for work regularly being detained. It's no longer profitable or worth it to travel to the US for work.
Everyday I wake up, I understand more why roosters wake up screaming
I guarantee every person saying stop attacking Tesla holds Tesla stock, they're not worried about the company. They're worried about their own financial investments
The irony of me watching this one today, as I was balancing my accounts today, and found that instead of withdrawing the normal amount for the month, my student loans withdrew over 41 times as much, as my IDR plan couldn't be recertified. Knowing my loans would be forgiven allowed me to go into public service, unlike my colleagues who went from law school to firms where they could maximize the amount of money they would make. I was able to pick the lower paying jobs that served the community. Now, I'm stuck needing to make monthly payments that my wife and I will have to figure out how to afford. And we at least have the advantage of not having children. I can't possibly imagine what people in my same position with children to also take care of are doing. Similar issue for one of my co-workers, who hit their requirements to have their loans forgiven last year, but have been required to keep making payments because they haven't cleared the paperwork to forgive the loans yet. And with the current state of the Department of Education, I have severe doubts that they ever will...
